Acclimatization FAQ2 Mt Damavand Iran?

Q- I am unfamiliar with the acclimatization needed for Damawand Volcano, Iran ?
A- Could you give us some info about your physical fitness and climbing experience? If possible we recommend climbing mountains upto 4000 meters height and sleeping few nights there.

Q- Is it true that “the faster you ascend the less chance the body has to acclimatize”.
A- Yes it is quite true, we usually suggest to ascend slowly.

Q- In a private tour package for Mt Damavand and in a specified itinerary, in case we need an extra day for acclimatization, is it possible to arrange it?
A- No problem, we are flexible for extra days for acclimatization and bad weather.

Q- Would it be better to stay an extra day in Camp3 Bargah Sevom New Hut for more time to acclimatise?
A- If you feel that you need more time to adapt to the new environment; yes it is a good idea.

Q- On the first day of our trip to Damavand Camp1 Polour Hut and for better acclimatization, is it possible to have an easy trek to 3.000 m.a.s.l from the Camp1 Polour Hut?
A- If you are traveling from your country directly to the first camp, because you are tired and also due to jet lag, you need rest and sleep till about 11 am to 12 local time. You may have some easy trek after launch, not to make yourself so tired.

Q- Do you recommend any alternative program to acclimatize on another mountains prior to Damavand for one week duration?
A- Yes we may suggest different and more relaxing itinerary for more acclimatisation.

Q- I’m planning a ski ascent of Mt Damavand, and I’m thinking that a good start would be to go to Dizin first for a couple of days skiing at the resort. Also I’m thinking that there might be some nice mountains very close to Dizin ski resort that we might start with just to get a little bit more acclimatization before Mount Damavand. Can you recommend any peaks close to the resort that we could do as daytrips?
A- For acclimatization in other ski resorts around Tehran before attempting Mt Damavand pls visit Damavand Ski Tour.
